Prez staklonu (Through the Glass)

Gravely was a lad by illness stricken.
Two weeks at home abed, yet still he'd weaken.

A young heart burning – his beloved not in sight
With tender yearning would he pine the more each night.

Three weeks on the dread disease stays by,
yet not for this, but for longing he might die.

Into the woods alone, herbs to gather in a sack
a fair lass had gone, and now she hurried back.

His beloved the ailing lad could not await.
His mother wailing did their fate berate.

But the lass did come and the mother did beseech
through the glass hand on hand to reach.

And so, one fair hand upon the glass,
she prayed to God for strength, the lass.

Then cried the mother, so the village heard.
Awake and hale her son sat up – a miracle occurred.
His fair and loving lass had warmed his heart through sheer glass.
